NEW YORK (HedgeWorld.com)-Technology provider Iris Financial has appointed Harry Stahl to the newly created position of vice president of professional services. It has also has hired David McIntyre as development director and earlier this month appointed Jorge Vidal as vice president of sales. In total, Iris has added 12 new staff members to its New York offices since the start of the second quarter.

Mr. Stahl previously was at the global consulting company Headstrong Services, where he was responsible for all financial services delivery in the United Kingdom and northeastern United States.

"Harry brings nearly 20 years of top-tier financial-services experiences to our rapidly expanding company, including significant time both within institutions like those of our clients and technology solutions companies, giving him a complete understanding of what our clients need and expect," Iris Financial Chief Executive Michele McGovern said in a statement. "In addition, Harry's experience managing very large global teams of engineers and client services professionals is perfectly suited to the Iris Financial client base-the world's leading global banks and investment firms."

Mr. McIntyre was in charge of the prime brokerage technology group at Credit Suisse First Boston prior to coming to Iris. He also is a co-founder of Data Oxygen, a data cleansing firm that caters to the financial industry.

His deep fixed-income experience coupled with top-notch technical expertise are perfect additions to our growing business," McGovern said. "In addition, as we enter the alternative investment space, his intimate knowledge of the prime brokerage industry will be invaluable."

Mr. Vidal was executive director of sales and business development for Trema Americas prior to joining Iris. He also was vice president of global sales, marketing and channel management at Random Walk Computing and executive vice president of sales for The Beast. Mr. Vidal also served as senior vice president of sales of technology solutions at Reuters America during its merger with TIBCO Finance.
